Margaret Wood absolutely loves painting and is particularly interested in colour and brush strokes and the effect gained to support the painting. She currently lives in the New Forest which continually inspires and delights her, as it changes on an almost a daily basis. She has been lucky to have travelled for holidays and met many fellow artists who admire the beauty around them and transfer that beauty in many different ways, for example; the beauty of shadows, skies, flowers, shapes and storms, the fragility or abundant colour around us. “It’s good to see but not so easy to put on paper to your own satisfaction…..that is the challenge” !
Margaret has been exhibiting her work locally, since she retired from full time teaching. “Artists make very good friends and critics when you need them”. Margaret has had work accepted at Open Exhibitions at Southampton Art Gallery, The Red House in Christchurch, St Barbe Gallery in Lymington, and the New Forest Museum Gallery and regularly exhibits with the New Forest Art Society to which she has been a member for many years (at one time Chairman), as well as at the New Forest Show and with the Lyndhurst Village Artists, Exbury Gardens ‘Five Arrows Gallery’ and many other local venues.Click to book a free ticket
