Portsmouth trained artist and designer, Kendal James uses a startling variety of media to create a wide range of colourful, playful artworks and products in her Southsea studio. She has curated several solo and group exhibitions and organises regular networking events to support her local creative community.
Although she works with materials as diverse as Hama Beads and yarn, she has lately returned to her artistic roots, combining her loves of travel and architecture, using watercolour and ink to create vivid maps that explore memory and journey, experience and adventure. Precise, miniature illustrations are paired with shocking splashes of vivid colour to explore regions, countries and continents. Whether they chart a fondly remembered holiday, or the major landmarks of an entire lifetime, these illustrated maps trace the steps that lead us to ourselves.Click to book a free ticket
